At 3 months, Ryan's now able to support his own head, which made this photo shoot much easier than a month ago. Previously, Brooke had to hold his head, then on the count of 3, she'd quickly remove her hand and I'd take the shot.
Ryan has finally lost interest in the contrasty beam, preferring to look at our faces. He still loves the bouncy ball and bath time. He's constantly chewing on his tongue, so we suspect he may be getting his first tooth soon.
The photos may be a bit repetitive, but I loved them all...
Our little Fighting Irish....
Tummy Time. Ryan's neck has gotten much stronger in the last two weeks, but his arms are still a bit weak to push his chest off the ground....

Ryan - Week 10
Ryan got his first round of immunizations last weeks. He got 4 shots and 1 oral vaccine.
His weight was 14 lbs 2 oz, his length 24.0", and head circumference 16.0".
He is shown here with his doctor....
We used the upright stroller seat for the first time. I think Ryan is now old enough that he can appreciate the view from an upright position. Plus, as you can see from the photo taken 2 weeks ago, he has almost outgrown the stroller bassinet....
Gameday Saturday....and the Huskies won
Gameday Sunday....and the Seahawks are ahead 28-0
We've gone on two runs since the last post. We're not fast, but our pace is improving....
(again, "Lap 1" is the running portion, "Lap 2" is the cool-down walk)
Make sure you have the volume on. Ryan's cooing!

Labor Day Weekend
Our friends from the Bay Area came down for the long weekend. We finally did all the touristy things that we never got around to doing.
The Santa Barbara Courthouse....
Random photo taken at a coffee shop. I included it because I love Ryan's Popeye pose...
We went to Stern's Wharf, where the girls and kids caught a ride on the water taxi. The guys drove and picked them up at the harbor....
We went to the SB Natural History Museum, primarily for the butterfly exhibit....
An evening stroll....
We setup a black backdrop and tried to take some studio-like shots of the kids, but I didn't get much worth keeping....
Alice Keck Park and Alameda Park. Our friend got interviewed by KEYT, the local ABC affiliate, about Obama's planned speech to school kids.
Our teppanyaki lunch....

Class Reunion
We had our birthing class reunion last week.
Here's the class 14 weeks ago.... (I didn't take any of these photos)
Here's the class last week....
It was great to see everyone again and exchange delivery stories and parenting tips.
Ryan was born about 1 week later than most of the other babies, but he was definitely the heaviest.

Help! My son is a thumbsucker!
Ryan just discovered his thumb. He'll suck on it night and day, when he's hungry or full. We've given him pacifiers, but he really prefers the thumb. (It's too bad the video quality is too low for you to see the slobbery mess)......
Bob & Ryan
We finally took the Bob jogging stroller, our first major baby purchase, and Ryan out for their first run on Sunday and then again on Tuesday. Having not exercised in months, we're slowly easing into it by running only 2 miles at a time. Here are the stats from our two runs (Lap 1 is the running portion, Lap 2 is the cool-down walk)....
