Here are some facts about Ryan:
- He's 39.5 inches tall and weighs 35.0 lbs. (up from 36" and 30 lbs at 2 yrs old)
- He's starting to resist naps and goes without napping a couple days a weeks.
- He loves singing. He still likes Foster the People - Pump Up Kicks, but his current favorite is Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen. He also likes Little Talks by Monsters and Men and Tunnels by Arcade Fire.
- He's a contrarian. Several times a day, he'll get in a mood where anything you say is objectionable. Here's a typical conversation:
- Mom: "Ryan, let's go potty"
- Ryan: "I don't want to go potty"
- Mom: "Let's just try"
- Ryan: "I won't"
- Mom: "Fine, we'll try later"
- Ryan: "No, I wanna go NOW"
- repeat conversation 5 more times…
- While in the car, we can always expect one the following three requests from Ryan:
- "I want to play with your phone"
- "Stop talking!" (whenever Brooke and I are trying to have a conversation)
- "I want to hear it louder" (referring to the radio)
- He's still a really good eater in terms of variety and volume. He loves all the same fruits and veggies as before. We've discovered he hates onions and tomatoes. His favorites meals when eating out are:
- Ivar's fish and chips (his record is 3 pcs of fish)
- Chipotle kids menu #2 - chicken quesadilla, rice, pinto beans and milk
- Spaghetti with sausage
- Wonton noodle soup
- Teriyaki chicken
